Available in Malta from dPet, Seachem Flourish Excel supports healthy aquatic plant growth by offering an alternative carbon source that plants can easily use during photosynthesis. All aquatic plants require carbon to grow. This is normally supplied through CO₂ injection , but plants can also obtain carbon from simple organic compounds. Seachem Flourish Excel offers these compounds, allowing plants to grow even without a CO₂ system. Flourish Excel can be used as an alternative to CO₂ injection or together with a CO₂ system to improve plant growth and overall aquarium health. This is particularly useful in situations where adding more CO₂ could cause dangerously low pH levels in the aquarium. Seachem Flourish Excel also supports promote the ferrous form of iron (Fe²⁺) , which is more easily absorbed by aquarium plants than ferric iron (Fe³⁺), improving nutrient availability. By supplying organic carbon compounds similar to natural photosynthetic intermediates, Seachem Flourish Excel allows plants to bypass the need for dissolved CO₂ and continue producing the carbon chains required for growth.
