• This Compact Lamp PRO for birds is equipped with UV-A and UV-B, which are very important for birds. This Bird Systems Compact Lamp contains 12% UV-A and 2. 4% UV-B. The Bird Systems Compact Lamp PRO is a UV lamp that works optimally in a horizontal position.
• 2% more UV-B radiation, which amounts to approximately 10% more UV-B radiation than the Compact Lamp Specialist. Due to its horizontal position, the Compact Lamp PRO (horizontal) has a slightly wider range than the Compact Lamp Specialist (vertical); additionally, the PRO emits 0.
• This lamp does not flicker, not even for birds, which see faster. In addition, this lamp has even more important includes, namely UV light. Birds not only see faster, but also more; they see UV-A radiation. As a result, they see more colors, recognize ripe seeds and berries, and recognize their own kind better. This therefore stimulates feeding behavior and improves breeding results. Birds see better than humans, not only faster, but also more colors.
• UV-B radiation normally comes from the sun, but it does NOT pass through glass, so birds kept indoors almost always suffer from a UV-B radiation and/or vitamin D3 deficiency! Vitamin D3 enables calcium to be absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract. Birds without UV-B light therefore also often develop a calcium deficiency. This lamp also emits UV-B radiation, which supports that vitamin D3 is activated on the feathers; they ingest these vitamins by preening their feathers.
• This is because the UV output gradually decreases; the lamp will of course continue to burn (the normal light visible to us), but the important UV output will be negligible after one year. Therefore, replace your lamp at least once a year! Due to the UV output of the lamps, it is important to replace the lamps at least once a year.
